If you are organizing an Arbor Day event, here are some materials that may assist you in planning the event.
Come celebrate Georgia's Arbor Day on Saturday, February 6th at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell, GA 30075-4723, (770) 992-2055. There's fun for the whole family including a Trail of Trees presentation by Tim Womick, the modern-day Johnny Appleseed. Enjoy the inspirational 30-minute film, The Man Who Planted Trees, an Academy Award winner for Best Animated Short Film. There will be a tree planting demonstration, guided nature walk, vendors, educational exhibits and free tree seedlings! Admission to Chattahoochee Nature Center during the event, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., is free. Hosted by Georgia Forestry Commission (www.GaTrees.org) in partnership with the Georgia Urban Forest Council (www.gufc.org).
