Community Organizations

As community leaders there are a few steps that you can take to celebrate Arbor Day:

Step 1: Learn to plant and care for healthy trees.

Share the wealth. Send this information to your members via e-mail, newsletter, and web links.

Step 2: Help promote Arbor Day.
Promoting Georgia's Arbor Day can be as simple as planting a "seed of thought" among your various audience members. Just copy and paste this sample e-mail and send an Arbor Day message to everyone on your e-mail list. Also, here is a promotional Tool Kit for you to use.

Step 3: Support your area's Arbor Day events.
Arbor Day events are being conducted in many areas throughout Georgia by tree groups and/or municipalities. Check out the events in your area and contact an event organizer to see how easy it is for your organization to get involved by sponsoring and/or participating in Arbor Day Events in your local community. Support your community's Arbor day event and promote your mission by nominating your organization or any other for a National Arbor Day Award.
