Loblolly Pine is the most common species of pine found in Georgia and can be a good investment if properly managed.  Keeping stands at proper densities can help with vigor and natural resistance to the southern pine beetle.

Slash Pine has a natural resistance to attacks from the southern pine beetle and is a good choice on some coastal and poorly drained sites.  Some sites require bedding to expect good survival and early growth.
