For outdoor burning within the City of Brunswick, permission must be granted by the city manager. All outdoor burning is prohibited on Jekyll Island. Any permits for Jekyll Island must be Granted by Jekyll Island Fire Dept or Jekyll Island Authority. Due to the population exceeding 65,000, a permit must be obtained when land clearing for development. An air curtain destructor or incinerator must be used when this type of burning is being done. This type permit is issued by the Glynn Co. Fire Dept.
